Gears of War 2 - Unreal Engine Tech Demo

Gears of War 2 has been announced and it’s planned released is sometime in November 2008 barring any delays or unforseen problems. The team at Epic Games is hard at work on sequel to one of the biggest games of the current gaming generation especially in online multiplayer on Xbox Live and as expected many gamers are excited. Below is a video of the a tech demo of some of the tools available to the design team working on Gear of War 2.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl Now available at the Arcade

Just one day after it’s North American release we are proud to announce that the English version of quite possibly the biggest video game of 2008 is now available for play at the Area 51 video game arcade at Shop #5 Clocktower Plaza, Half Way Tree, Jamaica!

According to Major Nelson these were the top 10 played games on Xbox live for the entire year of 2007.

1) Halo 3
2) Gears of War
3) Call of Duty 4
4) Rainbow Six Vegas
5) Call of Duty 3
6) Crackdown
7) Oblivion
8 ) Guitar Hero II
9) Forza 2
10) Lost Planet

No surprise with th top 2 games as they were also very popular games here at the Area 51 Video games arcade.

With all the big named games dropping this year i wonder which 10 games will be most popular for 2008.

Gears of War 2 coming November 2008

Gears of War 2, the squel to one of the best sellinggames of the present generation of consoles and one of the top 5 biggest hits at the area 51 video game arcade will be getting a sequel in November 2008 that promises to be much better that the first game. Take a look at the teaser trailer below.

Registration for Inter-arcade FIFA 2008 League open

Registration for Inter-arcade FIFA 2008 League at the Area 51 video game arcade is now open. Registration costs $1000 and only the first 20 entries will be accepted for the competition. A soon as 20 entries are received a follow up will be made detailing the rules and formated of the competition. Super-slim PlayStation 3 coming later this year

Officially it is a rumor but with the lackluster performance of the Playstation 3 so far compared to it’s predecessors and current competitors it’s the best move that will allow them to perform better in the current console wars. More Info at E3?……lets hope.

The New PS3 will be much slimmer and weigh a lot less than the current model. That’s not hard to believe - the PS3 is physically the biggest PlayStation console Sony has ever built. It’s also the heaviest, so the benefits from such a move are obvious. (more…)
