Fighting game enthusiasts rejoice! Area 51, the biggest and best video game arcade in Jamaica presents Bloodsport - The Kumite! a bone crunching fighting game competition. KUMITE RULES

The competition will be based on a point system.

Each game will carry a maximum amount of points that will be divided equally among the players competing in that game.

Players will fight each other in a best of five duel for each others points until a winner is declared.

The player to attain the maximum points will be declared the winner.

If no one gets the maximum points the competitor with the most points will be declared the winner for that game.

All contestants are required to pay a $100 dollar registration fee.

On fight nights participants need only to pay the $100 dollar required at the door.

Other than fight nights participants can play anyone within or outside the competition on any of the six tournament games for a special price of $200 from 2 pm weekdays and $400 on Saturdays. (more…)

Gears of War Weekly Tournament

Think you are best Gears of War player or have the Best Gears of War team? Come to the Area 51 video game arcade and prove it and you could win cash and prizes 3 times weekly

RULES

Teams are required to buy points that will cover the three nights of competition.
The minimum amount of points to be purchased is one thousand five hundred @$1.00 per point.
Available only to persons doing all evening deal ($500.00).
Teams buy in @100 point per member.
Winners take the other teams points.
Losers have to give up controllers to new team or buy back in @ 50% increase or match winners increase.
Winners can increase the buy in not exceeding 100%.
Winners have the option of redeeming 80% of points won for cash.
Any team to win two nights in any order out of the three nights will be considered the champions of the week.
Picture of the winning team will be displayed on screens throughout area as “GEARS CHAMPIONS.”
Also winning team will receive armbands.
Champions are exempted from paying for deal on the three nights of the competition.
Champions will be able to dip in lucky dip bag containing various prizes such as:

Movie tickets
Free credit
Free game times
Rights (this is the ability to dictate to losers what they can play, listen to, watch or drink at the arcade.)

Item 13 is available on the condition that the winning team chooses not to redeem their points. Also it is required that teams have a minimum of five (5) members.

Registration for Inter-arcade FIFA 2008 League open

Registration for Inter-arcade FIFA 2008 League at the Area 51 video game arcade is now open. Registration costs $1000 and only the first 20 entries will be accepted for the competition. A soon as 20 entries are received a follow up will be made detailing the rules and formated of the competition. Inter-arcade FIFA 2008 League to be launched soon

Plans are underway to launch an inter-shop FIFA 2008 competition. The competition will be in a league format similar to club football leagues all over the world. If you are interested in taking part in the league you may register at the Area 51 arcade through any one of our representatives.
